Early Variant: From 1983-87, the text was in a smaller Helvetica Black font. The lining of the text is also different and more compressed than the standard version. In addition, it was commonly filmed.

Availability: Uncommon. This can be seen on Disney VHS tapes released in the UK and Ireland from 1983 to 1990, such as the original 1989 UK and Irish retail VHS releases of Sleeping Beauty. One British/Irish tape that had the early version was Dragonslayer. Expect this to also appear on early Touchstone Home Video VHS releases from both countries as well, including the original rental editions of My Science Project, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Ernest Saves Christmas, and Good Morning, Vietnam, among others.

Variants: As the years progressed, the font of the warning screen changed.
- In late 1993, the font was changed to a bolder version of Helvetica. It was changed to Univers in late 1996.
- Starting in autumn 1998, the words "AND" and "ARE" are replaced with "OR" and "IS". The font of the warning text is also changed to a bolder version of Univers in this variant. Strangely, the 2002 UK and Irish retail VHS releases of Snow Dogs contained the 1993 variant.
- On time-coded and demo tapes, the text below is replaced by:

It also appeared at the beginning of early Arabic VHS tapes of Disney films such as both of the Aladdin sequels. The laserdisc variant was spotted on the UK laserdisc of Toy Story (one of the first Disney titles released on laserdisc as part of a partnership with Encore Entertainment in 1997 alongside Die Hard with a Vengeance and Crimson Tide).
