1st Bumper (1982-1984)
Bumper: On a dark blue background, we see the words:
"Before the main feature,
PALACE VIDEO
Proudly Presents ......"
In a Helvetica font, which stay on screen for a couple of seconds.
Variants:
- Sometimes, "PALACE VIDEO" is either larger than or exactly the same size as the rest of the text.
- The background can sometimes be dark or light blue.
- A very rare variant exists at the end of the trailer reel for Angel, where on a light blue background are the words, "All available from PALACE VIDEO".
- On The Streetwalker, the "PALACE VIDEO" text starts out small, but cuts to a larger size before the first trailer starts.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None. Sometimes the last few seconds of the Palace Video logo music play as this bumper appears.
Availability: Rare. Seen on pre-cert Palace Video releases in the UK, such as That Sinking Feeling, Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence, The Evil Dead, and The Streetwalker. Also appears on a few Palace Pictures releases like Blood Simple and The Hit.
2nd Bumper: (1983-198?)
Bumper: On a white background are the red words, "OUT NOW", in an Arial font, which fade in.
FX/SFX: The fade-in from the last seconds of the Palace Video logo.
Music/Sounds: The tail end of the Palace Video music.
Availability: So far, only known to exist on the 1983 UK pre-cert VHS of Diva.
