11th February 2002-July 2007[]

"Next" ID: On a coloured CBeebies background (either blue, pink, orange or green), four CBeebies 'bugs' are seen. They steadily transform into the letters for the word, "Next", in the CBeebies corporate font, which slowly turns yellow to white and moves down to the bottom left corner of the screen. A clip for the succeeding programme irises in on the top right of the screen, whilst the name of the programme being shown next fades in in the same font as "Next". Occasionally, another CBeebies bug is seen whilst the clip plays. This ID, overall, lasts for exactly 10 seconds.

"After That..." ID: On a different coloured CBeebies background, the letters for "After That..." zoom in from the bottom left, below the clip of the programme after the next in the top left. The name of the programme fades in below "After That...". This ID, overall, lasts for exactly 5 seconds. Notably, the pattern of 'blobs' is smaller in these bumpers.

"After That..." Variant: On 2004-2005 airings of CBeebies on BBC Two, sometimes the caption for the programme wiped in from left to right, instead of simply fading in below "After That...".

FX/SFX: Computer animation, created by the late Lambie-Nairn, combined with the clip for the next programme playing.

Music/Sounds/Voiceover: Gurgling sound effects from the CBeebies bugs moving to make "Next", and a male/female voiceover, sometimes a CBeebies presenter, announcing the forthcoming programme, along with any music or audio from or related to the programme.

Availability: Broadcasted during this era either on the standard CBeebies channel and on broadcasts of CBeebies on BBC Two. Despite all these 2002 "Next" and "After That" IDs were replaced by the 2005 "Next" and "Then" IDs, Bedtime Hour was the only ID to still be in use until 2007.

2005-July 2007[]

"Next" ID: On a blue CBeebies background, we see the letters for the word, "Next" in the yellow CBeebies font fall from behind the screen, bouncing against the blue background several times on the top-right of the screen. The "e", however, is slightly lower than the rest of the letters. The "e" jumps up in between the "N" and the "x", causing the letters to rock slightly from left to right. As they settle and the "e" looks at the "N" and "x", the name of the succeeding programme fades in in a white CBeebies font below "Next." The succeeding programme plays on the left of the screen in either a pink, orange or green oval border that bobs about slightly, whilst two more blobs of the same colour condense in and bob slightly. About 3 CBeebies bugs are also seen moving throughout the ID. After a few seconds, the caption fades out, the letters of "Next" shrink one by one, and the coloured shapes move away, whilst the clip also shrinks. This ID, along with the "Then" ID (which is in place of the 2002 "After That" ID) last for exactly the same length of time as the 2002 bumpers.

"Then" ID: Succeeding the "Next" ID, on the same background, the letters for "Then", in the same font as "Next", flip and jump up to the top right corner of the screen. As the same animations for the clip, caption, shapes and 2 CBeebies bugs occur, the "e" in "Then" jumps a few times, while the "h" and "n" look at the "e", as it does to them. The bumper then briefly freezes before segueing into a forthcoming promo or presenters link.

FX/SFX: Same as before.

Music/Sounds/Voiceover: Cartoon sound effects for the letters for "Next" hitting the background, along with either a male or female voiceover announcing the programme, which mostly has the audio and/or voice clips from the programme. Four ascending 'pop' noises for the shrinking of each letter, and a 'sucking' sound for the clip shrinking. On occasion, the CBeebies bugs make gurgling noises when they are seen moving.

Availability: Broadcasted during this era.
