Background: These bumpers were used at the end of VHS releases of Sesame Street from 1997 through 2003.

July 8, 1997-January 14, 2003

Only from Sony Wonder Bumper 1997-2000

Bumper: We see the last part of the 1995-2006 Sony Wonder logo flip in and out (through the same "squeezing" effect used on the trailer reel that this bumper follows), then we see a blue screen that says "Wherever children's videos, CDs, cassettes, and book-and-tape sets are sold", in yellow letters and in the Dawncastle Bold font that flips in, then out.

Variants:

  • Starting in 1999, the Sony Wonder logo is still and cuts to the second screen appearing instead of transitioning to it.
  • On Elmo's World: Head to Toe With Elmo!, only the "Only from Sony Wonder" portion is shown, with the theme from the 1997 version.

FX/SFX: The clouds moving in the last part of the Sony Wonder logo (only on the 1997 version), the flipping/squeezing.

Music/Sounds:

  • July 8, 1997-February 3, 1998; February 1, 2000; January 14, 2003: An instrumental of the last few seconds of "Count with Me," accompanied by an announcer (Neil Ross) saying "Only from Sony Wonder, wherever children's videos, CDs, cassettes, and book and tape sets are sold."
  • January 12, 1999-September 12, 2000: The 1969-92 harmonica theme from Sesame Street accompanied by a different announcer (Wendell Craig) reading the lines.

Availability: Seen at the end of most Sesame Street videos from the designated eras. The first version made a surprise appearance at the end of Elmo's World: Dancing, Music and Books. It also appeared on the 2001 DVDs of Kids’ Favorite Songs and Elmo's World: Dancing, Music and Books.

April 14, 1998-September 24, 2002

Only from Sony Wonder Bumper 1998-2002

Bumper: Just like the previous ID, we see the end of the 1995-2006 Sony Wonder logo, but this time, on the "Wherever Children's Videos, CDs, cassettes, and book-and-tape sets are sold" screen, the letters are in white, all capitals and in a different font, and the screen constantly changes colors and spins.

FX/SFX: The colorful background spinning and the letters, plus the same transitions.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1997-98 version of the previous bumper.

Availability: Common. Seen at the end of tapes from 1998 and 2001-02, such as Elmopalooza, The Alphabet Jungle Game, The Great Numbers Game, The Best of Kermit on Sesame Street, Elmo’s Musical Adventure: The Story of Peter and the Wolf, Kids’ Favorite Songs 2, Computer Caper, Elmo Visits the Firehouse, and the 1998 reprint of Elmo Saves Christmas.

Final Note: Beginning with Zoe's Dance Moves, upon completion of each video's trailer reel, every Sesame Street video would cut to black (in 2003) or the Sony Wonder website promo (from 2004-06).
